Young Enterprise
On Monday morning 14th January 2 women (Mrs Page and Mrs Wakefield) came to our class to teach us about Young Enterprise. In the morning we had Mrs Page (who works in Sainsburys) and we started off the morning with them introducing themselves. Mrs Page did an activity with us, we checked all of the classroom objects and wrote them in our journals. We were looking at which countries the objects were imported from.Groovy Gravity!
This week in Science my group are investigating gravity. Click on the link below to go to a really good website that explains it all. Let me know how you get on……Y6 it would be good revision for you too! http://library.thinkquest.org/27585/

Our Visit to the Terry’o’ Toole Theater
On Friday 16th November our class, and only our class, went to North Kesteven Theatre to watch the Jazz and Rock festival all afternoon with Mrs Cant, our music teacher and Mrs Page, our art teacher.Miss Smith’s Class walked instead of going on a coach. We had lots of fun at NK but we could not believe that the hour was up. There were six performances altogether. It was really very exiting and enjoyable so probably everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. The class received a CD from the performances so the whole school can enjoy the music and singing. All of Miss Smith’s class hoped Mrs Cant would sing but she didn’t.The Terry ’o’ Toole theatre has had lots of performences in the past but the jazz and rock festival has probably has been the largest one yet. Miss Smiths class didn’t want to leave but sadly our time was up. Everyone had a great time.

Road Safety!
On Friday 16th of November, Miss Smiths yr6 literacy class went to visit Mrs Bishop’s yr2 literacy class. We went to talk to them about ROAD SAFETY and how to use the roads of the world.
Before this we have be preparing leaflets using the information in the ARRIVE ALIVE books. We paired up into two’s and three’s, Miss Smith gave us the challenge of teaching the yr2′s about road safety. 20 minutes into the lesson Miss Smith stopped the lesson, to congratulate the yr6′s on their teaching abilites. Henceforth told us to ask the yr2′s three things that they have learnt this lesson. Mrs Robinson who was the teacher for the day, said that all the yr2′s had learnt alot and the yr6′s were fantastic!!

Road Safety Around School
| Hello there! Just thought that I would put a link on here for the live maps website we used this week in ICT. You can make your own road safety map at home using pins to mark safe and unsafe places. You could even use it to look at road safety of places you are going to visit, so the whole family remains safe! Have fun, and let me know how you get on….

THE IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM.
On Saturday the 20th of October I went to the Imperial Museum in Manchester. Origainaly we had gone to the Lowry, but headed to the museum after a doughnut and coffee. I learned loads: all about the fact that they used BEARS,DOGS,ELEPHANTS and PIGEONS to carry heavy things during the war. Animals all over the world are famous for these horrific events. Pigeons, carried many messages and braved many weathers to help win the war.Dogs helped sniff out people after destruction, a dog named Carla saved 19 lives and is well known and documented. Elephants helped carry machinary and wood, they had similar jobs to bears, some even became members of the services. I would recommend the museum to everyone. By Eve 5/6S
